The $99 Special

Don't let the special low price fool you. Here are six, brand spanking new $99 Specials and boy, do they offer the viewer tremendous value for the money. With 99 days and $99 in your pocket you never know what will be produced out of this filmmaking experiment. In a profession where it's not easy to practice your filmmaking, the intention of the 99 is to do exactly that. And sometimes they deliver big results. Who’d have guessed a hit TV show would be created out of the $99 Special SIGNIFICANT OTHERS, not to mention a soon-to-be-produced feature film out of NEVER DATE AN ACTRESS, starring original lead and then unknown Naomi Watts. In addition to introducing new works by Slamdance alums, let’s also welcome the young filmmakers of Salt Lake City’s Spyhop collective who have also collaborated to create this year’s Slamdance Festival trailer.
